Slugs United by Mathematics, also known as SUM, is a student organization aimed to bring together a community of like-minded peers interested in the subject of mathematics. SUM meetings occur every week to provide weekly group activities ranging from board game socials, field days in the sun, and friendly math competitions. These meetings are designed to provide an opportunity for members to socialize with each other about math and science and build a sense of community and belonging at UC Santa Cruz. All majors are welcome, no mathematics skills required!
