UCSC undergrad contributes final piece to answer

Mathematicians and the general public alike have been fascinated by the complexity generated by the apparently simple rule set of Conway’s Game of Life. Now a UCSC undergraduate has contributed to answering an intriguing question about the nature of the game, and how its rules sometimes produce endless stable repetition, when other times lead to self-destructive explosions of chaos.
